The Greenwood Ave. Farmers Market at 427 Greenwood Avenue (located behind the Trenton Transit Center) opened with fanfare just a month ago, with area residents, local and state officials celebrating the first of its kind farmers market in Trenton.

Providing easy access to healthy foods, as well as health screenings, music and physical activity for children and adults, the Greenwood Ave. Farmers Market has seen over 1200 customers and visitors since June 15.

“The reception by the community has been outstanding,” said Marissa Davis, project manager, New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids-Trenton. “We’re here every Monday engaging local residents, and even area commuters who are stopping by on their way from the Trenton Transit Center located across the street. The location has proven to be very convenient; and because we are offering more than just the opportunity to purchase produce, visitors to the market are staying longer to take part in the health screenings, physical activities and board games, all while vibing to the music from the live DJ.”
